Sudden Attack Overview and Features:
There are two teams in the game, red and blue. Red is the Tanziriro Independence Force (Silent Fox corps) while blue is the United Great Force (SA Anti-terrorist Police) The weapon configuration is as follows: primary weapon, secondary weapon, knife, grenade, bomb defusal kit. Teams are then pitched into various types of gameplay matches in different maps such as deathmatch, bomb defusal etc.
Players can chat to each other (pressing Tab will allow them whether their messages are for everyone in the map to read, or for members of their team or clan) during gameplay.
Clan Match
A clan match is a free-for-all match. Player must be in an official clan in order to participate. Clan matches include deathmatch, missions, sub-missions, siege mode, and cross counter.
Game Modes
There are currently four types of game modes: Team Deathmatch, Bomb/Defuse(mission), Item Retrieval (similar to capture/defend the flag), Property Defense (similar to king of the hill), and Submission. There can be up to 8 people on a team.
The Team Deathmatch mode is red versus blue with the winning team decided by number of kills. There is a time limit in Team Deathmatch mode ranging from 5 to 30 minutes. The maximum number of kills needed to win a round can be adjusted on the room master's choice: from 60 to 160 kills. Most Team Deathmatch rounds often are set on 100 kills with a time limit of either 10 to 15 minutes. The Warehouse map is notably the most popular map for Team Deathmatch mode since the small size of the map allows quick intense gameplay and often finish fast. Players gain 10 points per kill and lose 2 points per death.
Bomb/Defuse mode is where the red team attempts to destroy a target with a timed bomb, while the blue team tries to prevent the target from being destroyed. This mode also has a time limit per round (Bomb/Defuse modes have 3 to 9 rounds per match) and players cannot respawn once they're killed in a round. Every map with this mode has an A site and B site; these 'sites' are areas where the time bomb is allowed to be placed. The red team can win a round by either successfully destroying their target with the bomb or literally eliminating all players in the blue team. The blue team can win by defusing the bomb before the bomb timer drops to zero or eliminating all the red team players. For each kill, players earn 10 points but lose 3 points per death. Each round won also gives a bonus 20 points to all those in the winning team. One of the most played maps with this mode is the 3rd Supply Base map.
The Item Retrieval mode is when the red team attempts to prevent certain mission items from being taken by the blue team while blue team attempts to retrieve mission items and take to a safe area. Very similar to the Bomb/Defuse mode. The blue team however, can alternatively win by destroying the items they are to achieve (that way the red team would have then no use for them). Each round won gives a bonus of 15 points to every player in the victorious team and if a player retrieves an item and places it to a safe area, is awarded 20 points him/herself. The mode however, is limited in the number of maps available (only the Golden Eye and Night Club maps with this mode)
The King of the Hill mode is a red versus blue with the match won if either team keeps an item on their side for a set period of time without letting it fall in the other team's hands. Since it involves intense fighting over the item, this mode often has the most longest-lasting rounds.
The number of rounds from the four types of game modes differ. Team Deathmatches have only one round in which players "fight to the death." However, Item Retrieval Bomb/Defuse games have short time limits and go anywhere from 3 to 9 rounds, depending on the room master's choice.
Also, all modes except knife match can has limited weapon options of Pistol Match (pistol and knife only) and Knife Match (knife only), which can be set by room master. New modes also include sniper matches (where a player's primary weapon can only be a sniper rifle)
